From the camera of Alex Mayes at Spencer, NC.

Jack

One of the most exotic runs was a short freight consist powered by an A-B-A set of EMD F3s, built in the mid-1940's. The two A-units are ex-Bangor & Aroostook F3s; the B-unit is ex-Boston & Maine F7B No. 4268B which has been modified to look like an F3B. All three engines have been painted into the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western’s maroon, gray and gold scheme. "DL&W 663" was BAR No. 44; "DL&W 664" was BAR No. 46. The 663 belongs to the Tri-State Chapter NRHS; the 664 belongs to the Anthracite Railroads Historical Society.

Night photo shoot on May 30th with the A-B-A F3s at the restored Barber Junction station,
now on the museum grounds.
