Jim G --

Yes, I've been enjoying the "Third Track" article in the latest
Diamond. And, being a 'west-ender' (Chicago area) I'm totally
unfamiliar with the Croxton yard layout and the routes in and out of
it. So your idea of an 'overview map' makes a lot of sense, and your
map serves that purpose well.

Actually I was thinking along those same lines and was going to write to
the Diamond editor to suggest that. But before I did that, I did a
Google search and found an interesting map. It was referenced in a
Railroad.net discussion:

https://railroad.net/track-layout-around-bergen-arches-and-croxton-t15794.html

In that, AndyB wrote:

Although all tracks are not included, the following link

from Rutgers historic maps may help you understand the layout.

It's more of a street map that a RR map, but it does show Croxton yard
(though not all tracks) and connections. I've attached a cropped
version showing the Croxton yard area. This, along with your map, is a
big help toward understanding all the connections in this complex area.
