NJ TRANSIT's Dual Mode loco that is wrapped in an Erie Lackawanna scheme
(thanks in large part to artwork done by Paul Tupaczewski) has generally
been used in PTC testing service and was only recently released to general
service. It has been based at Woodbine Yard on the NJ & NY Branch (aka
Pascack Valley Line) but with the reduced service levels has spent many
days just resting. On Wednesday May 13 it was operating on a cycle that
saw it run in to Hoboken, lay over, then make a late afternoon turn to
Waldwick via the Bergen County Line before returning to Spring Valley. I
was fortunate to be able to get out for the afternoon trips and have a few
photos to share.

In chronological order, 4519 1875 Garfield would be first, around 4:42 pm
yesterday. This neat bridge structure carries the Bergen County line
across Saddle River and River Drive, and is also the point where three
municipalities come together - South Hackensack Wallington and Garfield.

I then drove to Waldwick arriving just as 1875 did (no highway traffic vs
an all stops train schedule allowed for this). 1875 goes into Waldwick
yard and lays over for a bit, then comes back out as train 1874. In 4519
1874 Waldwick we see the train heading east (away from the camera) going to
Waldwick Station and passing the restored WC tower, around 5:30 pm.

Hope you enjoy them.
