This was the first Tower I qualified in, Aug 21, 1959. It was officially
known as Henderson St. ,
But when you were called to cover a job there it was known as 27F, nobody
working there and the assignment clerk referred
it as 27F. It was a non interlocked interlocking tower, you were
qualified there by the yardmaster and chief clerk.I was qualified
by the yardmaster Harry Craft and John Elser..

Al,
Thanks for sharing your info. Amazing to realize that you started your
career 60 years ago this summer!

Would you care to clarify what "non interlocked interlocking" means?

Attached is page 3 of the 1973 Erie Lackawanna TCU/BRAC Roster of Agents,
Telegraphers, Towermen, etc.

It appears that Al was the second to last on the roster hired by the DL&W.
Only T. Krause follows with a DL seniority date.

Interestingly, D Struthers shows an Erie date of 9/1/61. I'll guess he was
working for the Erie prior to the merger, but only qualified as a towerman
after, hence the 1961 seniority date. But just a guess on my part.

This roster came to me after the passing of my Father in Law, Lou Daddea,
which is why his name is circled in red on the sheet.

Quite a few well known railroaders appear on this page. If there is
interest I can share the entire roster (4 pages). Le me know.
