Thanks to Jeff Mutter and Steve Timko for the question and info on the SCX. I chose not to include the SCX on my EL freight symbols list, since my philosophy was not to include irregular intra-divisional extras and junk freights, the "ordinarys" and "pickups" and "gangs" that might run today but not tomorrow. (Ah, for the days when a "Paterson Gang" meant a bunch of GP7's that came east during the afternoon on the Port Jervis "Drop", running west thru downtown Passaic after dusk with a short consist, then settling in for some switching at XW Tower and Getty St. Yard -- and not what "Paterson Gang" means today).

But as Steve points out, the SCX was a fairly regular operation and was inter-divisional, as it ran out of Scranton at least thru to Meadville. It might have been the junk-train replacement for the X-1, which started in Croxton but assumedly filled out in Scranton and ran to Meadville. So, I've added the SCX to my westbound symbols list.

Also, I've attached a pic of the SCX sitting near BD tower on the ex-DL&W w/b main on a hazy morning in August, 1972. Not sure what he was waiting for; we asked the engineer, but he just responded with some cuss words about how badly things were going on his run.
