I don't remember seeing a hand cart like this being used for baggage or mail. I do remember one axle baggage carts and two axled baggage wagons.

An attached shot shows the baggage cart at Denville in 1959. I would slap on a DLW logo similar to what you see in this shot and enjoy your piece with a clear conscience. And if I painted the wood, I would use a dark green.

When the MU RPO's were running, it was a regular weekday morning occurrence in Madison to see a baggage cart, heavily laden with mail, dragged across from the eastbound platform to the westbound. There was a sliding gate in the fence that had to be unlocked which was located by the mail building. I'm fairly certain that this mail was then transferred to the Phoebe Snow in Dover.
