"EL_FERRY_HOUSE_8.64.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1600x971 (24bit)

I thought this would be an interesting photo to submit since the Hoboken
Ferry House has been reopened. This is what it looked like in August of
1964. This is a rather soft-focus shot. It's another shot from my Argus
C-3. I am on one of the "Scranton" class boats approach the slip next to
the "Pocono" tied up. The next bridge to the right under "Lackawanna" is
out of service. You can see that one of the upper-deck ramps is bent. The
bridge was knocked of its cradle and never repaired. One of the flag poles
on the column to the right of the sign is missing. This was after the
clock tower was removed and before the microwave tower was installed. At
this time EL was still using three boats on the Barclay Street run during
the day. In three years and three months the old steam ferries and the
diesel "Lackawanna" will stop running.
