Todd,

To the best of my knowledge, EL only had 40' boxcars with roof hatches, and
only a few of them at that. The series mentioned before were rebuilt in 1966
with those hatches and they lasted into Conrail at least. Attached is a shot
from my collection of 84421 that shows the three roof hatches per side. This
was on the former NYC "West Shore" line in Cornwall, NY in May of 1977.
Perhaps even more rare is the CNJ cylindrical covered hopper at left, one of
only two!
