FTTX 963827 is class BSH11 blt in the early 70's by BSC. Note the wide overlay on the deck, giving an extreme width of 10-6. Triangular brackets were welded in to support the overlay. The 04/80 ORER lists 429 cars in series 961548-964444. The car in the photo was most likely headed to Ford Assembly in Pico Rivera CA. With an average autorack load of 15 cars, this frame car would account for 13 autorack loads. Supports Pat Moore's thought that there likely weren't nearly as many frames cars as boxcars -- and this one car would account for 103 outbound loaded autoracks! It's always good to have multiple confirmations. Sometimes those aerial photos aren't dated correctly.
