Here's a B&W shot of the Little Falls Roustabout heading east towards Croxton Yard, after a hard days work on the ex-DLW Boonton Line industrial stub in Wayne and Totowa. It was taken in 1974 at Normal Avenue in Upper Montclair, and you can just see milepost JC15 along the westbound track where the curve begins. The second shot was taken quite recently at the same spot. Things have changed! There's catenary and an NJT late afternoon e/b local from the Montclair State U. station, a new station that was built within the past decade or so. There are now plenty of NJT passenger trains on this line on weekdays. But the Roustabout is gone, all freight on this part of the line is gone, the old Erie-standard speed restriction sign is gone, and the Erie Lackawanna is gone . . . furthermore, the JC15 post is also gone. Looks like it might have stood in the footprint of one of the catenary support foundations.
