Brad,
From what I know, the Marion ice house did make it to the end.  I do not know if it had any use at all.

The ice platform tracks being adjacent to the eatbound main were often used for eastbound pickups as
their location made for a quick in/out move with a minimum delay.  2ndNY100's Marion UPS pickup
was spotted there for that reason.
