Re: (erielack) Alco Farewell / Economy Changes
Thanks Rick, but the " Royal Blue" was the train you're thinking of. The "Banner Blue" was a Saint Louis to Chicago Wabash train. To my Knowledge the CNJ became Jersey Central Industries. Then I don't know?? Lance

ance,
think the CNJ was at one time under B&O control. The B&O used the CNJ to
each Jersey City and ran "The Banner Blue" on the CNJ, if I remember
orrectly.

F&P, M&STL or CNJ. Perhaps taken over or merged up with a non rail

ell,
lot of EL ROW might still be around but if EL had upgraded, I'm sure
ither NS
CSX would have their hands all over the property. EL shareholders would
ave
en offered a deal they could not refuse - sort of like what CSX did to
cquire
chmond, Fredricksburg 7 Potomac.

I think you made some good points. The good news in
oungstown is that the air is 25% cleaner. The bad news is
hat there are no jobs and the jobs that are left pay just a
ittle more than minimum wage. I guess this is the "New
conomy" or the "New Normal".

siness? What's that?
oing back to the EL, in theory the EL could have survived as a primarily

h well, such it is to dream....
