(erielack) A Sunday on the EL Scranton Divison...

Since I was looking up some information on those D&H U23B’s, why not take a trip back in time to the Scranton Division on a Sunday in 1972, December 10th to be exact…
The D&H U23B’s this day were the 301, 307, 312 and 311 on train NU-2. 34 loads and 42 empties, 3,331 tons by Plymouth Jct. at 11:42 HRS. They came back as train NU-1 at 13:50 hrs missing the 311 with 64 / 75, 5,865 tons. Later that night another NU-2 with the 301, 307 and 312 passed through Plymouth Jct. heading up from Northumberland with 18 / 11, 1558 tons.
EL fans curious what else ran that day?

Hope you enjoyed that day of train watching on the Erie Lackawanna in 1972!
That CS-9 sure was small when it reached Scranton. looking at the dispatchers notes he setoff MTY's like this 5 at SBB (?) and 20 at P&L. Came west with 4 cars after that! PN-98 notes 7=Toby, 4=Sby, 10= P&L, 3=an, 1=Hoboken, 3-C, 12-F, 10-MB. (?), there's all kinds of abreviations and notes on the trainsheet.
