(erielack) ERIE No. 6

I was looking at jon-n-bevlilies site today at a 1943 New York Division ETT.  Interesting to note that Erie was sending #6 into New York over The Bergan County Railroad rather than through Paterson and Passaic.  However #5 did make those stops going west.  I'm wondering when Erie decided to re-route the train.  Wasn't this in the pre-Lake Cities era?  Was this the Midlander?
