Re: (erielack) Jan 9, 1967 [1976] Hornell, NY Traffic

There certainly was an unusual concentration of 6-axle U-boats: six, vs four
SD's. More often than not, the WB UPS trains had a pair of SD's with 5000
gal fuel tanks to avoid having to refuel enroute, but they weren't always
available at Croxton when needed. NY-97 was a symbol that appeared to have
been retired during July, 1975 in favor of CX-97 and MW-97. CX-97was
primarily WB empties for MEadville and Marion and often ran in sections. It
was scheduled out of Croxton in early afternoon but being a non-priority
train (an "Ordinary" in old Erie terms), the actual departure time varied
widely. I'm thinking this was basically a 2/CX-97. Otherwise, it's a pretty
typical lineup for a Friday afternoon. Here are the scheduled times:

NY-97 (CX-97): 0200
AB-91: 0815 (04:14L)
ACX-99: 1230 (00:52L)
BS-2: 1430 (00:54L)
PB-99: 1915 (03:45 AOS or 20:15L)
CX-99: 1430 (01:05L)
BC-2: 1500 (02:02L)

Thanks for posting, Schuyler.

SMT...

Thanks for the interesting post!

Looks like it was "big U-boat" day on the Srn Tier. I also noticed the
SD45-2s on train AB-91 instead of one of the piggyback trains.
