Steve, do you recal if there was a setout track at Johnsons?

Amasa Siding, as Paul indicates, was short, and rather useless for trains  
other than locals and CM-2 which always had a small train.  In addition,  
the east end of Amasa was equipped with a spring switch, which meant that the  
most effective use of the siding was for an eastbound to pull in and then 
trail  through the switch when departing.
 
Yes, Johnson's siding had a "cripple track" as they were known on the EL.  
It ran from MP 150.03 to MP 150.14.  The Erie did build cripple tracks,  
usually midway, in most sidings.  The problem with them was, they were  
originally served by car inspectors that used motorcars.  After motorcars  were 
eliminated, road trucks and block trucks had trouble accessing many of the  
locations.
