Yes, I'm thinking maybe the 1950's. That's an awfully short rail move, 
especially for non-bulk freight. Can you pinpoint a year for the opening of 
the Erwin plant?

Hi Jim...

That is some interesting info about the Corning Glass Works.  What time 
frame are we talking about?  Was he talking about operations back in the 60s 
because he referred to the NYC?  I've always thought that the NYC/PC had 
most (if not all) the business from the glass works, that is until Corning 
opened the plant in Erwin in the mid 70s that you can see from the Rt 15 
overpass. And that's an interesting (really) short haul from Corning to 
Horseheads!
