(erielack) Re: Survivors

Content-type: text/plain

Walt,
RMDI is / was a locomotive re-builder based in Pittston, Pennsylvania. It is located in the old Lehigh Valley Coxton yard. They used what remained of the old LV locomotive shops that survived there. Reading & Northern owns and operates the former LV trackage. I have not been there in years, so I am not sure if RMDI is active or what's left of the complex. Big Dog Leasing (BDLX) is a division of RMDI, just in case you ever see a locomotive with those letters on it. There used to be a former EL SDP-45 on the property at Coxton, but RMDI cuts up diesels too, so it may have faded away like the two R&N (EL) SD45-2's that Paul reported.
Hmmmm rebuilding locomotive engineers, nobody will attempt it, those crusty old things have so many moving parts and are way too cantankerous!
