Understand sizes were more or less standardized, could one assume coal from a particular colliery was all the same grade, or were those mixed as well? So in addition to having the right number of cars at a breaker given the needs (contracts, and of course the current business climate) those cars also need to be sorted by size and quality.... Geeze, perhaps the railroad coal departments actually earned some of that money from the black diamonds!
