For those of you who have never seen it, Vanishing Ironworks of the Ramapos is the definitive history of the early iron mining and manufacturing in the Ramapo Mountain region of New Jersey and New York. For EL fans there is a lot of stuff in here about the Greenwood Lake Branch and the Erie mainline and its role in connecting with the Sterling Mountain Railway. There are many maps, site drawings and photos as well. The book is in excellent shape and is unmarked and clean except for a neat birthday dedication inscription over the blank front endpaper. Dust jacket shows moderate even wear. This book is by James M. Ransom, published by Rutgers University Press in 1966, 382 pages, and long out of print. A quick check of the rare book sites shows copies selling for $133 to $200. I am offering it for $75, media mail shipping included. First email to me gets it.
