There was a time when a New Yorker could purchase a railroad ticket to Woodside on three different railroads -- the Long Island, the New Haven and the Erie. The Erie Special Instruction goes back to the beginning of the NYS&W's tenure in Pavonia in 1911. IRC there was something else in the instructions for NYS&W trains that stopped in both Paterson and Passaic as well, although I've only seen the early ETTs -- and this would be in the first few years. So -- I wonder how they announced the Waldwick train that ran via the NYS&W?
