There is also a 12.25pm departure from Scranton that makes no stops and arrives in New York 2 hours 20 minutes later if all goes well. However, it's a Greyhound that originates in Toronto and it works except for the Sunday after Christmas when it was cancelled with no explanation leaving a crowd to pile on the 1.05. I had the commute from hell on Christmas Eve. The commute took four hours from Manhattan to Scranton, mainly due to traffic. People were openly complaining that there is no train service and that even if it takes a bit longer to go via rail, it's worth it. And here's a laugh that shows the signs of age. Some didn't know that once upon a time there was rail service to Scranton. They knew about Erie Lackawanna but didn't know about passenger service. That gave this guy the opening to talk about Pheobe Snow and the Lake Cities and how good it was. All agreed that NJT will sure beat the bus.
