[1946 Erie NY Div Employees Timetable:"When announcing N.Y.S.&W. trains at Jersey City, trains must be called 'N.Y.S.&W.' and not Susquehanna." Anyone know the history or sensitivities behind this pronouncement? Joe Braun] I get the List Digest in the AM so there may be responses to my query of today. But as I was cleaning the bathroom floor just now (must be the Mr.Clean fumes) I had a potential answer pop in my head: "NYS&W" was needed to differentiate that railroad's trains from an Erie through train passing through Susquehanna PA. If so, it would be interesting to know the stories that led to such a definitive edict.
