I was perusing a 1946 Erie NY Div Employees Timetable and stumbled upon this edict amongst the three pages of General Instructions: "When announcing N.Y.S.&W. trains at Jersey City, trains must be called "N.Y.S.&W." and not "Susquehanna." Anyone know the history or sensitivities behind this pronouncement?
