This begs the question: "If these Comet cars are so 'worn out,' why would anyone on the other side of the cintinent want them?" Thanks in advance for your comments.

Here's a link to a YouTube video that shows NJT passenger cars at Los
Angeles Union Station. Engine is UP 5361 (ES44AC, which UP classes as C45ACCTE).
Cars are NJTR 5124, 5750, 5116, and 5734, all ex-EL/NJDOT Comet I. 5124 and 5116
are cab cars; the other two are coaches.
