Schuyler,

I suspected as much, which is why I qualified my statement with "at least 
initially".

Another name I forgot to mention was the "Phillipsburger". In the 60's it 
was a Croxton-P'burg job, later cut back to Port Morris or E Dover. I'm 
guessing it was called this during the DL&W years.

Sorry Dr. B, but the Flying Saucer was an Official Erie Railroad name. 
There was advertising in the
general press bragging about the speed the train made from Chicago to NY. 
It might have

Not surprising it fell away.

I know this because I read about it when we named the ELHS sales newsletter 
"The Flying Saucer."
