Finally something I can chime in on, even though it's very much OFF topic: European rr's (I live in Holland). Broadly speaking, Western Europe is 70 - 95% under the wire. Holland and Belgium 95%. A reasonable guess for France would be 90%, Germany 70% (ex-communist East much less, they ran plenty of mainline steam up till the 1980's and after that were all but bankrupt), Switzerland and Austria close to 100%, Italy maybe 80% or more. Not so sure about the rest. Portugal, Spain 75%? That's our tax Euros at work! :-) (all state-run monopolies until deregulation started, tentatively, 5 years ago) Rik - ---------"the only thing that makes me 'live again is a south-bound whistle on a south-bound train" _________________________________________________________________ Jouw nieuws en entertainment, vind je op MSN.nl! http://nl.msn.com/ The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List http://EL-List.railfan.net/ To Unsubscribe: http://Lists.Railfan.net/erielackunsub.html ------------------------------
