(erielack) Re: EL Mail List Digest V3 #2844

My father was a locomotive engineer for the B&M. During his vacation he would take me into Boston to pickup his paycheck at BET (Boston Engine Terminal). After getting his check he would walk me through the roundhouse. I have a vague memory of a few EL units in the house. I have a stronger memory of a stall where there were flange marks in the concrete floor leading from the end of the track to the wall; which itself had obviously been recently rebuilt in area about the size of a locomotive. Apparently, the hostlers were only used to setting GP-7's and -9's. Those SD-45's were a bit longer, and didn't quite fit the same way!
