  The Morris & Essex Railroad arrived in Orange in November 1836, the first passenger cars were actually horse drawn. On October 2, 1837 the first M&E steam locomotive arrived in town. The Delaware, Lackawanna, & Western Railroad Orange station was built in 1918, it was part of the massive grade crossing elimination project. the 110 year old station survives today, as well as the former ORANGE Tower and DL&W freight station located just west of the station. Just east of the station a large concrete coal trestle still stands. It is amazing how adanced and well constructed the Lackwanna Railroad was during it's prime! Here are few photos I took last week.
