Jim and List, Many of the articles in FTW are help in any scale. To see someone else's work and how nice a model looks in EL-DL&W- ERIE generally motivates me to start the project. Mike Beers' TL was a major inspiration and proof that a reasonable model could be made. After discussion with another N-Scale passenger car modeller, I learned that I could find the correct Budd sides. The roof from the Kato Business car was my discovery. If a correct Tavern Lounge car was produced by any MFG., even brass I would pay quite a King's ransom for it. The time I have invested in my model for the results would be worth a lot. I think 50 bucks is a lot for an N-Scale passenger car, because if the quality was exceptional, it would make the rest of the cars look worse! put a Rapido HO car next to a standard Athern car and Yikes! As far as new products in N-Scale are concerned I tend not to be too critical. It wasn't too many years ago that you couldn't get much in the way of E L related models, Now you can pretty much do almost the entire roster, and some models in 3 different paint schemes. My time is worth a lot and even if a model isn't perfect, it is often better than the one I don't have! Just My 2 cents. After this convention, I will try to get some High Res shots for FTW. Thanks for the kind words. Greg O -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: "James Harr" <bnchmark_@_embarqmail.com> > Greg and list; > > Outstanding work!
