RE: (erielack) Lackawanna and Concrete



What I find interesting is the planning Lackawanna put into these bridge designs.  Someone must of have been considering the increase in automobile traffic back then.  It would have been very easy to make the Taylortown Road Bridge a one lane hole-in-the wall but they didn't.  The same goes for the road widths of the underpasses on the Cut-off.  The engineering department was looking ahead making sure they wouldn't have to come back in 15-20 years and install a bridge to accommodate a wider roadway.

Both bridges are still in use; the trolley route is now a county park
called the Traction Line Trail.

They are, though the station has been closed for decades and there is
no building there.
