The wide stripe on the Train Master doesn't look as bad since that is a VERY TALL CARBODY. The D9-44CW is roughly the same height, and a wider stripe would look a little odd and/or overwhelming, IMHO. Look how nice the standard stripe looked on U36C's (roughly the same height/length) > Also I am contemplating using the "Safety First" logo on the > hood similar to how Conrail Safety schemes looked. > > A subtle, one color stamp. > > Would this be a stretch for the EL and more importantly, > would Dash 9's have been purchased by Erie Lckawanna? Probably so - if you follow the buying patterns of most major railroads in the years after EL. EL was always "spreading the wealth" in its motive power purchases, and if history shows us anything, they might have been disappointed with later EMD efforts (SD50 comes to mind) and might have also been swayed by GE's lower price point/more efficient prime movers. - Paul The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List http://EL-List.railfan.net/ To Unsubscribe: http://Lists.Railfan.net/erielackunsub.html ------------------------------
