Yeah, I like the Kato components better, too. Looking over the Andy Harman article that was in RMC, I think that some sort of brass channel will be a better way to stretch the tank. How difficult was it for you to obtain the extra fuel tanks?
I get the feeling Andy did his model before Kato came out with an SD45. That should solve some of the problems with getting the shell to fit the frame, like he had with his modified RPP shell. One important item Andy did not mention in the article was how he accounted for the extra 5 scale feet in the drive train. I suppose you could splice one of the Kato drive shafts with some brass tubing?
Paul, I have a great idea...why don't you send one of your Kato SD45s to me so I can run some experiments? :) HA!
