More thoughts on the hiccup in the giddyup: Check at the crosshead guide yokes to make sure the crosshead is not binding if the yoke narrows the guides. Check to see if the main rod is snagging or hitting an overlong crosshead guide. Check to confirm that the crosshead is aimed at the center of the drivers. Also, check for (shudder!) a split axle gear -- a really difficult repair, worth of return to the manufacturer. Again, please keep us advised.
