Re: (erielack) Prototype track spacing (2)



Prototypical track spacings today follow AREMA (The American Railway 
Engineering & Maintenance-of-Way Association) engineering standards, or by 
the individual railroad's engineering standards...

Today, both CSX and NS engineering standards dictate 15' track centers, and 
although this is ideal when it can be achieved.  But as has been pointed 
out, there are exceptions, such as on the CSX's (ex-CR, exx-PC, exxx-NYC) 
Chicago Line in Cleveland, where there are still some 13' track centers...
