From the archives at Steamtown the following letter appears:

The Delaware, Lackawanna And Western Railroad Company
Office of Chief Engineer
Hoboken, N. J.

March 3rd, 1922.

Mr. H.H. Shepard,
General Superintendent.

Dear Sir:-

Your letter of the 2nd. Regarding New York Central plan for automatic
interlocking at the junction of the Utica Division on the West Shore
Railroad near New Hartford:

Signal Engineer Smith is at the present time investigating this matter and
I hope to advise you further in the course of a few days.
