The quality of the images in the Weekend Chief calendars varies; this year's offering is quite good, I think. You take the captions with a grain of salt, but I don't buy it for the captions. For the record, many captions in EL books published over the years are inaccurate, but it doesn't necessarily detract from enjoyment of the book. Many of the WC images are high quality. I've kept every calendar since I joined ELHS and I often use them for reference. I'd rather have a calendar with mediocre images of a subject I'm interested in (EL), than one filled with razor-sharp photos of Amtrash and tourist lines. As has been stated here, producing a calendar is a major undertaking, and the "calendar mills" are best-equipped to do this. Rather than repeatedly bash WC's efforts on this forum, use the time to go through your slide collections, copy the good ones, and send them in for consideration. Paul B I have purchased only one EL calendar and is was so poor that I never again bought it. I read each month the comments about the month and it is very seldom that there are kind words. So my question is, why does the EL group back such a poor representation of the three railroads?
