Is there any way to improve the captions? Or could we get them to simply leave them off, and we'll enjoy (?) the picture by itself?
We have to remember that many of the pictures we want to see were taken by photographers who were looking for a pretty picture, not recording industrial history; many didn't take much more in the way of notes than date and place. That means that someone has to guess at a lot of the information, if we insist on a lot of information.
Could we be that someone? Could several of our more knowledgeable members volunteer to proof the photos and supply what info they, as a group, could? Think of six people receiving a scan of each picture, one at a time and in rotation, adding info, and forwarding the picture to the next in line to add, subtract or correct. The whole process coud be electronic.
I think that would be more constructive than the CONSTANT carping and fault-finding aimed at someone who is doing something that, at the moment, no one else is willing to do -- put out a calendar.
I would be willing to be part of such an editorial assistance, even though my knowledge, such as it is, is more mechanical than operational -- and even that is limited.

The one thing you learn with these EL calendars are that the captions are utterly worthless, and have been wrong in the past... :)
