Re: (erielack) DL&W/EL N-Scale passenger cars

Frank,
The roof is actually the easy part. Tha Kato Business car has the correct roof. Some of the holes for details need to be filled and a few vents are in the wrong spots, but the rounded rear with the light is right on.
It's been the sides that are the biggest problem. The sides from the Con Cor Dome are correct Budd sides, but the window band has to be cut out and windows from it and another car have to be spliced in. It's been a lot of filling and sanding so far, but I have had good results. So much time was involved in fitting the windows and sanding the joints, that I had to take a break from the project. I still have to fab the tail with the door and windows from the Kato car. The next big challenge after that is the wiring for the Tomar lighted tail signs. I plan to use track power with a capacitor to prevent flickering. I'm not sure yet on using an LED or bulb to light the signs.
