Guys
Thanks for all of the responses.
Randy - Thanks for the offer, I have the instructions from the one I built.
Tony - Thanks I missed that one.
Joe - Thanks I wasn't aware of the Silver Streak caboose.
SGL - A brass version sometime in the future, probably wouldn't make my buddies lifetime or mine for that matter.
My dilema now is that if I give my buddy the last kit I have then any more wood cabooses will be scratchbuilt.
Thanks again for the information.

Interest Persons-
I have attached a picture of the Quality Craft model (in HO) that I have.
When we lived in Oakland, we dined often at Citro's in a similiar caboose.
Silver Streak also made a wood truss rod Erie caboose (picture attached).
Don't know whether or not that may be still available from Walthers (who
bought Silver Streak many, many years ago).

beside Citro's, in Wayne. I can remember one slide night when a picture
came onto the screen of a 2-10-2 helper backing down into Port Jervis with
one of these. I looked over the door to the room we were in -- it was the
same car.

it appears they don't make railroad kits at all now. Bethlehem Car Shops
has made some DL&W craftsman kits, but there's no ERIE caboose kit there.
Maybe John Greene could be convinced . . .
