I have found either the QC kit or the Gloor Craft kit on eBay a number of times. There is a GC kit on right now (with 2 hours to go) and I just forwarded the listing to Ben > QC is out of business as such, the kit line was sold to Gloor Craft, as I wrote > just a second ago That's correct. My brother and I tried to buy the line from Bob Weaver but were too late. . > But QC was owned by Bob Weaver, who also owns Scalecoat Paint, and also owns > Weaver, which makes O scale plastic kits. His son-in-law, Joe, took over the company. They were getting into the O guage plastic, which continues nowadays, as well as continuing the paint line. Bob retired and his wife, Shirley, who was also active in the business passed away a good while ago. > If I'm not mistaken, Tony Horn got some coaching about producing wood kits from > Weaver back when he > (and his brother, I think?) started TK Models. But he can confirm or deny that. > > SGL You are correct, and we did produce a number of kits primarily based on Erie prototypes. Ed Kelsey, one of the original ERS guys, was able to obtain a number of plans from the railroad which we were able to use. My brother kept the (industrial) woodworking equipment and I still have the casting equipment but we haven't produced the kits for a long, long time.
