Re: (erielack) Horn at Denville



Listers,
   
  Denville and UN had an air whistle not a horn. It was used to STOP any train if an emergency arose for wahtever reason and could be used to contact the signal maintainer. It was hooked up to the air line and worked on 90 pounds or so.  That is up until the plant at Denville was changed.  UN used the air whistle until the tower was closed.
   
  Dover had a horn known as a claxon horn to call for a maintainer.  Trains could not hear the horn and it could not be used to STOP a train in case of an emergency.
