RE: (erielack) EL repairing others' locomotives (was: Visitors at the Hornell Shops)

The Squeak seemed to stay away from the Erie after they broke away from them in the 30's. After reading Mowhowski's book I got the impression that Erie management wanted to charge NYS&W premium rates for everything. Susquehanna had their engine work done by NYO&W and later CNJ. I don't think EL ever did much with them. Besides, sending their engines to the well-equipped shop at Elizabethport probably made more sense, it was closer.

What other roads did EL do work for?

I know Rich Pennisi's book shows Morristown & Erie RS1 #15 being taken
to Scranton for wheel work, and I've heard Croxton did some repairs on
M&E units as well. I have some shots in my collection of Hoboken Shore
44-tonners in for service at both Croxton and Hoboken, on one of the
turntable tracks. Ironically, the Hoboken Shore came within a few
hundred feet of the DL&W terminal, but their only rail access was to go
out via the Erie Weehawken Branch interchange, then to Croxton, then
down the "Main Line" to West End, then through the tunnels. (unless they
were able to use the connecting track just before the Bergen Tunnels to
go directly from the Weehawken Branch to the DL&W main?)

Did the EL ever do work for other smaller connecting roads? (NYS&W comes
to mind)
