If you look at those photos I sent you of the final run of The Phoebe Snow you will see the second section stopped at Dover with the upper headlight on. It was not oscillating at that time but I believe it could move in a figure eight pattern if turned on. The red lens on these units and on the passenger F3's was always off to one side. The F's seemed to loose their oscillating lights very early in the merger. It is interesting to note how a lot of railroads seemed to remove this option. When I first moved to Virginia and Southern was still running The Crescent, I noticed they removed the oscillating headlight as well usually moving the headlight to the upper position and blanking out the door headlight.
