Scott Baggage unloading platform. Space restrictions required longer trains to pull the baggage cars east of the crossing, so that coaches could be more appropriately positioned in front of the station. At Pocono Summit, just east of the Summit Ave grade crossing at the station, in some photos, I see a wooden platform next to the track. There is a photo in EL in Color vol 5 on pg 67 which shows a westbound train in 1964 passing this platform. What was this platform? It isn't low level like a station platform, it does ramp up like a loading platform. There are a total of 4 tracks there in the photo too. Cramers siding and 3 others. I am guessing that the track at the platform is a siding. The Sheppard track diagram book doesn't show it so I am assuming that that all might be gone by the time I am modeling. **************Start the year off right.
