Paul To my knowledge, the EL inherited Erie vertical color light signals on the NYGL made by US&S. as were the Lackawanna signals. Same manufacturer, so both railroad's CL signals are going to bare some resemblance. A few of the NYGL signals did have a 2 lamp, 2 arm staggered, right/left configuration. But these were "distant signals" where the least restrictive aspect possible Yellow over Green (no need for green in the top arm) and both arms would have a lamp lit for all aspects, if the signal was operating correctly. The other ABS signals on the line were either 2 arm 3/2 lamp configuration or 1 arm 3 lamp. Some locations on the line like DB had Erie searchlight signals. I'm sure if any of these signals needed repair and there were compatible Lackawanna signal parts in the warehouse, they would have used them.
