At Lincoln Park the single track main and the siding were on the station side of the track. The fence separated the w/bound and e/bound and siding tracks. When the w'bound main was taken out that side of the track was abandoned for many years. I think it was not modified until the 1970s. There used to be a tunnel passageway just west of the station for passengers to get to the w/bound side. The iron picket fence remained in place at Lincoln Park for several years, probably into the 70s. Ed Montgomery - -----Original Message----- From: Gary R. These days, most NJT trains use the main track, stopping carefully so the doors line up with the pavement that crosses the siding. One train - - westbound train 1021 - uses the siding. It meets train 1024 just west of the station. The Volunteer Railroaders' Association ran a Santa train from Mountain View on December 1; staff loaded and unloaded at Lincoln Park, using the siding. That saved a lot of work since we didn't have to carry anything across the siding. Gary R.
