Re: (erielack) DL&W express cars



Um, Paul, that IS a diaphragm. These were former troop cars that operated in
Passenger service. In that service they were like any other passenger car in
that you could walk through them.  See page 31 on the EL color guide for
another pic, or the Erie/DL&W color guide for a picture of the Erie ones
with Diaphragms in MOW service.
Now whether the DL&W sealed the doors on the ends of the cars when they
became express cars, I can't say.
