Paul and list......

The Public Timetables showed what time was in effect at a certain town for
the public purposes.

The Employee Timetable showed where the time changed for OPERATING PURPOSES,
often they were not one in the same. That's somewhat confusing, but it
worked better if the operating purposes time change was at a division point such
as Marion rather than Ohio City or some other location.

I recall dispatching the Ft Wayne Line of Conrail and the time changed at
the Ohio-Indiana border but as far as Conrail was concerned, it changed at Mike
Tower in Ft. Wayne. Adams Tower in FW was on Eastern, Mike Tower used
Eastern and Central and Junction Tower in Ft Wayne used Central. Originally when
the Ft Wayne DS office closed about 1983 or 84, the split was at Adams, but
was later changed to Mike to avoid confusion with the time.

Before the Uniform Time Act the railroad never changed its clocks for
operating purposes. That was somewhat confusing.
