Paul,
    The RS-1 is still in service: http://youtube.com/watch?v=dTrA8fYxKso
    I used to volunteer on the TC when it ran Owego to Newark Valley. It was 
quite a thrill to learn how to couple cars, use hand signals, and learn how 
to place a torpedo at age 16.  I was in college when they moved to Pa, so I 
didn't follow.
